September Haul

Bag- H&M
Bomber jacket- Missguided
Jeans- Pull and Bear
Pink jumper- Pull and Bear
Thrill tshirt- M&S Limited
Army motif shirt- Zara

An A/W16 wardrobe update was overdue this week. Most stores had temporary student discount too which was an added bonus. Luckily, I managed to find everything I needed, including a bargain pair of ankle grazer jeans and some autumn suitable statement essentials. Also, after shopping all this week I've found out how much I love dusky soft greyish pinks.

After wearing my new black bomber jacket today from Missguided, I got countless amounts of compliments. It was originally £45, but the online retailer kindly offered 50% last Monday for 24 hours, making it a bargain price of £22.50. I wanted a black bomber since it'll go with nearly everything, plus it keeps me warm and has gorgeous oriental flower embroidery on the front and back.

My new favourite store is Pull in Bear. I can't stress how good it is; on trend pieces at amazing prices. Before discount, my latest pair of jeans where £20 and a oversized pink jumper for a tenner. Next I ventured to Zara where I was looking for one of their oversized shirts and found a military motif one, which will definitely be getting over worn.

M&S are having another sale at the moment, so I managed to pick up a thrill detail tee from the Limited Edition collection at half price in the most gorgeous pink. And finally, I'm absolutely in love with my latest accessory purchase from H&M. I've been searching for a Chloe 'Faye' inspired bag for ages, so when I came across this little cross body one, again, in a gorgeous pinky/orange I couldn't leave it.

London Fashion Week SS17

So far, London Fashion Week SS17 has shown a countless number of collections that have been influenced by 80s iconic fashion, such as big hair, bold makeup and power dressing. It looks like a lot of big and expected AW16 trends have been carried on into next season but with a bit more of an appropriate colour palette for the warmer months.

Some collections that stood out for me seemed to portray some big trends for next season, including the 80s obsession along with chunky platform shoes and big jewellery...

A S H L E Y   W I L L I A M S

This screams 80s all over. The nod to new romantic with power dressing suits makes it such an eye-catching collection. Bomber jackets are still huge, with sporty striped details for a preppier look. The chunky jewel-buckled platform shoes add quirkiness to the collection, which are due to be key shoes for AW16 too.

M A R K U S    L  U P F E R

I'm a massive fan of his collections and prints, they're always so feminine and fairly quirky. I especially love how he's teamed the cat print cagoule with a pleated midi and a choker which adds a nod of 90s to the collection. Another massive trend to follow up is long floral dresses and matching suits/pieces which he's styled so well with the gorgeous set of footwear!

F A S H I O N    E A S T

This was one of the most eccentric collections. Again, everything about it influenced by the 1980s, with some metallic-y colours coming through too. Earrings seem to be the accessory of the season, with eye-catching sets nearly as big as the models faces.

RAF SIMONS X FRED PERRY FW16

As a fan of Fred Perry and Raf Simons bold designs, I was excited for collaboration between the classic brand and famous designer to return. The Fall/Winter 2016 collection has just hit the website to reveal a collaboration that defines the distinctive designs of the two.

The classic Fred Perry silhouette is introduced to graphic block colours and line designs, typically used by Rad Simons himself. I think the famous Fred Perry polo shirt is the perfect base for collaborating with anyway, with it having so much culture connected to the sporty design- so it's always interesting to see what designers and collaborators can do with it.

One of my favourite pieces from the collection is the colour block tipped black polo and the red knitted shirt- with huge links to the classical Mod style that Fred Perry is accountable for. Another piece I like is the FP classic bomber jacket with subtle colour blocking.

Block tipped pique shirt- £80

Rib insert pique shirt- £95

Padded bomber jacket- £275

Colour block knitted shirt- £150

M U S T A R D S T U D I O S

My latest obsession is over the newly launched label, Mustard. Founded by Sarah Carr, the collection boasts classical 60s/70s nostalgic pieces with a contemporary twist, fitting perfectly into today's trends but still keeping that retro element.

With the 'D' hook strap detail currently a big trend, the royal blue Pinafore top is a stand out piece from the collection. It looks stunning layered over the silk blouse for a classic 60s/70s look.

I'm also lusting over the phone case prints, especially the pink one. Sadly, the only issue with the collection online so far is that the majority of the pieces are sold out; which is successful considering Mustard only launched a few weeks ago!

If you do anything, go follow their Instagram account @mustardstudios, since their feed is also gorgeous!

T O M M Y H I L F I G E R S / S 1 7 R E A D Y - T O - W E A R

Tommy Hilfiger's S/S'17 Ready-to-wear collection has just hit the internet and it's channelling the stereotypical sport prep image of the brand, but with a gorgeous floral/boho edge.

There's so many obvious trends that stand out from the collection that already exist in this S/S season, such as the bomber, trucker camp and dungarees. This is good news since it can only mean that the sporty trend isn't going anywhere next summer. The collection has also stuck to Hilfiger's signature preppy colours of blue, red and white, but the floral pieces use a traditional Spring palette.

One of the outfits that stands out is the suit piece with floral trousers, teamed with a glitter clutch. The striped shirt worn underneath still keeps the brands image.

Overall I love the whole 'layering look' going on since it's so wearable and laid back. Hilfiger have mixed it up by teaming a sporty jumper over a pair of ditsy floral shorts, and turning an oversized shirt into a gorgeous dress by layering a flower crochet crop over it.

J U L Y F A V O U R I T E S

Following today's extremely hot weather I've wanted to go on a massive shopping trip for clothes to keep me going till the end of summer. Although it was the hottest day of the year in Britain today, reaching highs of 32 degrees, the heatwave won't last and we'll back to traditional British rain soon enough!

I've been browsing the high street and have found some gorgeous pieces around, but most of them aren't your every day summer garments, (especially if the temperatures in its 30s!) But, its about looking ahead at pieces that will take you through the summer whether its hot, cold or raining!

R I V E R   I S L A N D  -  £ 4 5

I've had my eyes on this gorgeous playsuit for a while- purely because the print up close is lovely (the image doesn't do it any justice!) I love the whole 60s silhouette.

T O P S H O P  -  £ 5 9
(part of a co-ord suit set)

Topshop posted an image on Facebook of one of their models wearing this suit set with a white blouse underneath... it looks far better on her than it does in these images! It's so feminine and fits the 'pajarma' trend perfectly.

T O P S H O P  -  £ 3 0
(part of a co-ord suit set)

T O P S H O P  -  £ 3 2

Shimmer pleats currently seem to be a massive trend, coming in soft colours such as dusky pinks and greys. These trousers come in a range of colours at Topshop including the safe colour black. They're probably set to be a huge hit with the blogger babes trend!

Z A R A  -  £ 1 2 . 9 9

Zara have recently brought out an athletic range consisting of dainty ballet wear inspired pieces that are very sheer and feminine. This bralet top caught my eye in store, as its a perfect piece to be worn underneath sheer tops.

M I S S   S E L F R I D G E  -  £ 2 8

Again, the glimmer pleats are all over Topshop. I had only mainly seen them in trouser and dress forms until I came across this bardot top in Miss Selfridge, also available in grey. Perfect going out piece.

M I S S   S E L F R I D G E  -  £ 3 2

Finally, everyone needs a simple white blouse in their wardrobe, and as a huge fan of them myself, this pleat detailed shirt one from Miss Selfridge channels the Alexa Chung for M&S high neck pleated blouse, but in an easier to wear version. Great to go with anything from jeans to skirts and cigarette trousers. I will definitely be purchasing this very soon.
