Bardot Tops

It feels like Summer 2016 is probably over now after a three day run of sun and hot weather, since we're now back to rain! Fingers crossed we get more lovely weather in the coming months, as its made everyone want to go and buy a new summer wardrobe. 

One of my favourite styles of tops that have taken the high street by storm are Bardot tops. Worn in the right way, they make for the prettiest, feminine, practical summer top, which can easily be dressed up or down for any occasion. Denim styles have been the craze since the start of Spring, with Zara bringing out gorgeous off-the-shoulder pieces in pin stripe denim and pleated details.

I have picked out some of my favourite bardot pieces that are on my wish list for May. Topshop have one of the biggest collections of these styles. One of my favourites is the floral print River Island top just because of the print and colours, which is so different!

Chanel S/S17 Ready-To-Wear REVIEW

The latest designer Ready-To-Wear collection to hit the runway in May was Chanel's set up in Cuba.

The collection boasted traditional vintage latin style with a Caribbean twist. Consisting of classic Coco Chanel, (hence the appearance of a boxy Chanel tweed jacket) it really made for the cutest but stylist collection, with wearable pieces such as sheer blouses and wide legged trousers. The palette regularly stuck to khakis and greys, but a pop of bold Cuban colour came through in tropical prints and summery pastel tones. I'm especially fond of the footwear which sets off each outfit perfectly.

Archive By Alexa Chung for Marks and Spencer is happening. For me this is one of the most exciting collaborations of the year so far, purely due to the fact that its Alexa Chung, but it also means that it could potentially be more affordable and accessible than her collaboration for AG Jeans in 2015.

The new collection was launched last night at an event with M&S in Soho, London. Alexa was joined by Pixie Geldof and M&S brand ambassador, David Gandy. The new collection pieces where displayed in glass cabinets at the event with Alexa wearing her favourite pieces; including a khaki mac and a white blouse.

The aim of this collaboration is to broaden M&S's customers; by attracting a newer, younger target market interested in trends and are fans of Alexa Chung and her style, of course. It also aims to maintain current M&S customers by producing pieces suited for everyone's style, young or old. The collection itself is inspired by both Alexa's personal style and archive pieces from 20th century garments, such as M&S's young Junior Miss range from the late 60s.

My personal favourites are the chambray shirt dress, the khaki mac and the paisley day dress. Each piece is definitely something that Alexa would wear herself, with their quirky, vintage yet on trend aesthetics, that'll hopefully increase M&S's range of customers.

The collection is set to appear in stores during April.
