Moschino A/W16 MFW

The Moschino's A/W16 definitely resembled various 80s trends with their New Romantic inspired/punk collection. The pieces seemed to represent a 'Fairytale gone wrong', with burnt detailing on princess inspired gowns to give a rebellious effect.

Personally, I don't think Jeremy Scott has excelled himself this time with his ready-to-wear collection, even though I like the idea of his rebellious take on Fairytale inspired dresses. We all have high expectations of Moschino each season to wow us with fun and iconic pieces that are easily recognisable when looking back through the archives, so to look at a catwalk filled with toned down pieces that don't have as big an impact is disappointing. Plus their regular collaborations with the likes of Nintendo, Barbie and McDonalds really helps Moschino to stand out from the rest. The most eye catching piece was the giant chandelier dress.

You can still recognise classic Moschino references such as the side zipped black biker jacket detailing, along with a pop of bold blues and hot pinks. Apart from little critiques, there are plenty of cute little pieces in there such as an oversized denim shirt dress and the generic Moschino logo t-shirts teamed with a glamorous leopard print coat.
